2. The call to be a disciple is two-fold 1.Like salt, we are to bring out or revive or amplify the goodness that God has already planned in the world. 2.Like light we are to illumine or discover new ways of living in the world with the life of Christ for and with others

Qualities/Gifts of Discipleship Let’s look at some disciple qualities or disciple gifts that people could possess and then see which of them are active in the lives of several ministries that serve God’s People in the world. 4. Small Group Activity Form groups of 4. Each group is to compare your individual responses Create a common list of at leasat 5 discipleship skills and/or gifts you agree are necessary for the various ministries. Explain why these are necessary skills and gifts.

7. Transitional Note: Imagine that you are a member of one of the ministries that we have discussed. What makes being a disciple difficult in this situation and why? What would help you most in using your “salt and light” gifts? Why?

8. Matthew 25: 31 - 46 Discipleship means being led by Christ to share our gifts and talents under the guidance of the Holy Spirit so as to be salt and light for the world. It means that by being with Christ for other we are most full alive ourselves. So, what are our gifts and talents, and how does Christ use them in our own ordinary lives for the sake of others?

We all have been given spiritual gifts and talents that Christ wants to use to touch the lives of many we come in contact with.
