3 The Center for the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles and Obesity Prevention  To work with schools and communities in developing new strategies to promote children’s health and reduce obesity.  To stimulate and support faculty research on children’s health, especially research that addresses urgent community needs.  To provide additional internship opportunities for students where they can “learn while doing” as they assist with community programs and faculty research.  To evaluate and influence policies that affect children’s physical activity and nutrition.
