In this lesson, you will learn to:  Optimize the code in your Web site  Compress the images in your Web site  Place alt tags on the images in your Web site

4 Module 8: Web Publishing and Maintenance LESSON 3 Why Does a Web Site Need to Be Optimized?  Creates a faster loading site  Reduces unnecessary code that beginning designers tend to include  Allows unnecessary items and code to be identified

5 Module 8: Web Publishing and Maintenance LESSON 3 Optimizing the Code  Most Web editing software has an optimization tool to identify unnecessary code.  The designer makes the final decision to delete or leave code labeled as “unnecessary.”
