Rationale – GIS supports Board decision making by revealing cumulative impacts. GIS- based maps are of better quality and allow better analysis than paper distributions alone. 14. 14 The SLWB have plans to implement an online registry early in 2009. Below is a summary of progress to date.

15. 15 MGP Regulatory IMS - linklink Land Use Permit Mapping Website - linklink NGPS / INAC – Terriplan as developer Online application forms, document submission and regulatory tracking. INAC has invested over $100k on our behalf already. Interagency Land Use Data Sharing Working Group INAC funded / GNWT managed project Website to map LUP applications online (proponent or Board staff) GNWT short-staffed and project is not progressing -We should consider deepening our involvement These 2 projects complement each other and our registry / mapping plans nicely.
