2  Costache Negruzzi College opened its gates on the 5 th of October 1895, following the idea of the great mathematician, Spiru Haret of creating a model school.  It survived both, the World War I and the World War II, serving over the years as a hotel and hospital too.  In 1990 Costache Negruzzi College becomes UNESCO affiliated school, proving once again its fame as one of the greatest Romanian institutes.
