1 3rd Annual Washington D.C. Field Trip Parent Information Tuesday, September 22nd, 6pm

2 This Field Trip is strictly for Dillard Drive 8th grade students and their parents.

3 Cost of the trip and payments The total cost of the trip is $236.00 per person ( both students and chaperones) This includes - hotel, transportation, all meals except for lunch on the first day (which is a bag lunch from home) and two t-shirts to be worn while in DC. A Deposit of $40 per person is Due November 13th This deposit holds the spot for each person going on the trip.

4 Payments There is a payment schedule Deposit/First payment - Friday, November 13th Second Payment: Friday, January 8th Third and Final Payment : Friday, February 26th Cash or Checks : Payable to Dillard Drive Middle School.

5 Chaperones ●Essential for a smooth trip ●The more chaperones the better ■Keeps groups small ■Keeps groups manageable We are in of male chaperones each year it helps to have the guys along to chaperone boy groups. You MUST have FULL WCPSS VOLUNTEER CLEARANCE in order to chaperone our trip.

6 Roomates Students will choose roommates in the spring. Students will be 4 to a room Chaperones may room with their child and up to two others if they wish Parent chaperones are otherwise assigned two to a room and may request a specific roommate.

7 Food Most meals are at food courts or museums

8 Electronics Electronics are allowed on the trip, however students are completely responsible for any lost items. Student are encouraged to bring cell phones so they can be easily reached if separated from their group.

9 Hotel procedures Students are “taped in” Security Guard on patrol the entire night and staff will be on hand for issues or emergencies.

10 Buses Chapter buses If you are a parent chaperone you will ride the same bus as your child. 2 staff members on each bus Chaperones are required to ride the bus to and from Washington.

11 Walking The is A LOT of walking, we encourage students and adults to wear comfortable shoes.
