4 CROSS SECTION OF A CUBE  What shapes did you find by using the cross section of the cube?

5 WHY TEACH THE CROSS SECTION OF A CUBE?

6 SOMA CUBES  What is a Soma Cube?  The seven pieces of cubes are named Soma cubes. Altogether you have 1 block of three cubes and 6 blocks with four cubes which equals 27 separate cubelets.

7 WHY TEACH SOMA CUBES?

8 TANGRAMS  Make your own Tangrams  Directions:  Fold a rectangular piece of paper so that a square is formed. Cut off the extra flap.  Cut the square into two congruent triangles.  Take one triangle and fold it in half. Cut the triangle along the fold into two smaller triangles  Take the other triangle and crease it in the middle. Fold the corner of the triangle opposite the crease and cut.  Fold the trapezoid in half and fold again. Cut along both folds.  Fold the remaining small trapezoid and cut it in two.
