1 Mark 9:42-50 42“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.

2 Mark 9:42-50 43If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out, 44where ‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.’

3 Mark 9:42-50 45And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell, 46where ‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.’

4 Mark 9:42-50 47And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48where ‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.’

5 Mark 9:42-50 49Everyone will be salted with fire.
50Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

7 If we really believed in a literal, physical hell, wouldn’t our lives be very different?

8 …do NOT believe in an actual place called
35% of Baptist 54% of Presbyterians 58% of Methodists 60% of Episcopalians …do NOT believe in an actual place called HELL

9 The English word for “HELL” appears 54 times in the Word of God.
Jesus spoke of Hell eleven (11) times for every time He mentioned Heaven.

10 Mark 9:42-48 42“If anyone causes one of these little ones - those who believe in me – to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.

14 Some “Terrorible” things:

15 Eternal Association With The Wicked
“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

16 Eternal Separation from all who know God
“There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. (Luke 13:28)

17 Eternal Darkness (see Exodus 10:21-23)
But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8:12) Eternal Darkness (see Exodus 10:21-23)

18 Unspeakable Sorrow …there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:42, Luke 13:28)

19 Fire that never Goes out
‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.’ (Mark 9:44 & 48)

20 Bitter Memory & Remorse

21 Conclusion: What you do impacts others. Jesus thought Hell was real.
Nothing in life is worth going to Hell for. There’s gospel, (good news)!

22 There’s always good news until there’s not any.
