2 Main Ideas “Human geography is the study of human activities on earth’s surface.” (Marsh, Meredith) The first scholars began studying 3,000 years ago. (Marsh, Meredith) Three major fields: Human geography, physical geography, and environmental geography. (Marsh, Meredith) Spatial perspective helps geographers look at how the world changes over space.
