5 What Makes a Tiki? Defined by… Fierce Look Exaggerated Features
Large Eyes Eyebrows Nose with Nostrils Mouth with Teeth Lines and Graphic Texture Tikis were often used to represent different deities, and would be carved with expressions and features that were attributed to a particular deity. They were also used to ward off evil spirits, for fertility, and numerous other reasons.

--Create a base for your piece, about 4” in diameter. (No more than 4”) --Begin to roll coils Spread your hands for even coverage Make sure to roll all the way around the coil (Don’t rock it) Coils should be ¼ - ½ in. thick 3-4 inches ¼ inch
