Be a good role model for all my tutee and all other constituents. 4. I will not impose my personal value system or lifestyle on my tutee or constituents. 5. Help my tutees by using the Socratic method of tutoring at all times.

Guidelines for the Discovery process: ◦ Identify your personality and tutoring. ◦ Signals: listen closely to your instincts. ◦ Judgment: Be kind to yourself and your tutees, this is a learning moment for you both. ◦ Honesty: Essential component, simply put admitting you don’t have and answer is OK.

4. Intention Statement guidelines: o Make your intentions positive. o Use measurable criteria for success. o Listen to your instincts and follow them. o Set time lines that are reasonable but keep you on task.

5.  Remember the 12 step cycle  Relax/respectful/fun/patient  Establish rapport and be sensitive  Develop your “tool” of Socratic questions  Bloom’s Taxonomy and other tools  Be honest/have confidence  Stress learner independence  Learning Styles and Strategies  Keep good records
