The diffusion of telecommunications and ICT has left vast numbers of people without access to either.
The poor, rural people have missed out.
Of the 1.3 billion people in poverty, 70% are women showing they haven’t benefitted.
Since 1970, poor countries have became poorer and between 1960 and 1991, the world’s richest 20% has increased to 80%.

“Capital Flight” has allowed for wealthy companies to decide to invest in some places, remove investment from others, close factories, and open new locations where they can take advantages in changes in tax regimes, pay negotiations, government incentives, and the availability of grants and loans.
TNC’s can heavily impact and exploit some countries.
