ELECTRIC BILLS Billing mistakes happen. Know your rate schedule. Power company will provide charts, statistics and analysis. Bills signal a problem exists.

Motors Industrial motors account for 45 percent of electricity used in the United States. The annual electric cost for running a motor can be 10 times its purchase price. Have a policy ahead of time to replace burned out motors with right-size energy efficient motors.

LIGHTING Typically lighting is 10 percent of an industrial facility’s energy cost. Reclaim 30 percent by cleaning fixtures and lamps. “ EXIT ” signs burn 8,760 hours per year. Are light controls working properly?

COMPRESSED AIR Costs seven times more than other energy sources. (7 Hp motor to get 1 Hp air.) 90 percent can be lost to leaks. Save 5 percent cost for every 10 psi not used. The cooler the air, the cheaper the cost.
