Crawley, John Wiley & Sons Ltd An excellent book that provides an introduction to the essentials of statistical analysis while teaching the R language. Even if you have a firm grasp of statistics this book will provide you with a very good platform to learn R. Crawley stresses model simplification and estimating effect sizes. Especially handy is the availability of worked examples, data sets, exercises and solutions offered through an accompanying website.
