1 1 Use this area for cover image (height 6.5cm, width 8cm) Accelerating Employee Autonomy & Capability Development Michael Killingsworth & Michael Thompson THE CHALLENGE  US will become the world's top oil producer by 2020 with more than 500,000 jobs to be created & over 800,000 jobs created by 2030  Almost half (43 %) of US oil and gas employers cite “skills shortages” as a significant issue.  Petroleum Engineering/Geology hard to find, entire engineering shift change underway over the next 10 yrs  Significant ramp up in Deepwater activities across the Industry – increases staff shortage  Technology differentiation may require deeper or new subject matter expertise (e.g. Subsea, Wells, Production)
