Sharing Your Faith Why is it so important? tnt 2005

People are lost Anyone who doesn’t know God is lost. Lost = spiritually dead Have the Son? –then you have life... But don’t have the Son... John 5:24 “ I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” 1 John 5:12 “ So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life.”

People are lost Not in the Book of life? –Lake of Fire Revelation 20:15 “ And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.”

God loves lost people We are like sheep Doesn’t want anyone to die Matthew 9:36 “ He felt great pity for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn't know where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 18:12-14 “ If a shepherd has one hundred sheep, and one wanders away and is lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others and go out into the hills to search for the lost one? And if he finds it, he will surely rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn't wander away! In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father's will that even one of these little ones should perish. 2 Peter 3:9 “ The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent.”

God loves lost people My Lost... Maverick...

God made it our job to talk to them Matthew 28:18-20 “ Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 “God has given us the task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others. We are Christ's ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, ‘Be reconciled to God!’"

First step... PRAY Pray that God would give you compassion Pray that God would spread His message 2 Thessalonians 3:1 “ Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to pray for us. Pray first that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you.” Matthew 9:36 “ He felt great pity for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn't know where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd.”

challenge Pick one friend, pray for them every night. If you can’t think of a friend, pray for mine.
