2. Background – Harry styles Harry styles is 21 years old, he was born on February 1, 1994. He was born in Bromsgrove. He first sung in a school competition in a member of a group. In 2010 he went on the X factor as a soloist, he got through the first audition but at the judges houses he then got put into a group with 5 other people, the band was called One Direction.

3. Background – Niall Horan Niall Horan is 21 years old. He was born on September 13, 1993. He was born in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. He was 16 years old when he auditioned for the X factor in 2010. Niall grew up in Mullingar and attended St. Kenny National School. He performed in school plays and was a member of the choir.

4. Background- Louis Tomlinson Louis Tomlinson is 23 years old. Louis Tomlinson was born on December 24, 1991, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. As a child and teen he acted and sang on television and in school production. Louis first auditioned for the X factor in 2009 but was turned down by the judges. He then went and auditioned again in 2010, this was when he was put in the band One direction.

5. Background- Liam Payne Liam is 21 years old. Liam Payne was born on August 29, 1993, in Wolverhampton, England. His early interest in music and performing led him to compete on television talent competition The X Factor in 2008 after getting turned down he went on it again in 2010. In 2008 he managed to make it to one of the last 24 finalist.

6. X factor After being put into a boy band at the judges houses One Direction then went on to coming 3 rd over all in the X factor final. Harry was the member that came up with the idea to call the group One Direction. After the X factor One Direction had been signed by Simon Cowell to a £2 million Syco Records record contract.

7. One direction In One Direction there are 5 members: Louis, Harry, Niall, Liam and Zayn. In march 2015 Zayn decided to leave One Direction. One direction have made 4 of there own albums: Up all night - 2011 Midnight memories - 2012 Take me home - 2013 Four - 2014

8. Awards One direction won there first BRIT award at the 2012 BRIT awards for the best British single ‘That's what makes you beautiful.’ They have won 2 BRIT awards, 3 NME awards, 2 kids choice awards and 4 MTV music video awards. One Direction won all nineteen awards they were nominated for at the Teen’s choice awards.

9. Tours One direction have been done many world tour as a 5 member group. As Zayn left one direction in March 2015, One direction have decided to carry on as a group with four members. This year they are doing a tour without Zayn as a member of the group. This tour is called ‘on the road again.’
