1 Today in Algebra 2 Go over homework Need a graphing calculator. More on Graphing Quadratic Equations Homework

2 Finding the Vertex 1.Graph the quadratic 2.2nd TRACE for CALC menu 3.Select 3 or 4 for minimum or maximum (If the parabola is opened upward select minimum, if parabola is opened downward select maximum) 4.Trace to left of vertex and press enter 5.Trace to right of vertex and press enter 6.Trace to the vertex and press enter 7.The point for the vertex should appear at the bottom of the screen.

3 Finding the solutions 1.Input Quadratic equation into the calculator 2.Press 2nd Trace to view the CALC menu 3.Select Option 2 for zero. 4.Trace to a left bound (to the left of the x-intercept) press enter 5.Trace to a right bound (to the right of the x-intercept) press enter. 6.Trace to a guess for the x-intercept and press enter. 7.The x-intercept will appear at the bottom of the screen. 8.Repeat this process to find the other x-intercept

4 An arrow is shot upward with an initial velocity of 64 ft per second. The height of the arrow h(t) in term of the time t since the arrow was released is h(t) = 64t – 16t 2. a.How long after the arrow is released does it reach its maximum height? What is that height? b.How long after the arrow is released does it hit the ground?
