Background - Pilot Program Background - Pilot Program In response to previous years high failure rates in Greater Kloto for the national college entrance exam (“Baccalauréat”) in Togo, West Africa, Global PAD initiated a free group tutoring program in spring of 2012 as pilot at Kpodzi high school. The program’s 1st edition covered about 25% of the 861 candidates. Program participants’ success rate was 54%. General Success rate (all candidates) in Kpodzi High School was 49%. Repeated in 2013, the program covered 28% of the 885 candidates in Kpodzi High. Program participants’ success rate was 65%. General Success rate was 43% for Kpodzi High School and 42% for the whole country. In 2014 we failed to implement the program due to lack of funding. And the success rate of Kpodzi High School decreased to 42% that year. The Program covered 180 of the 868 candidates in Kpodzi High School in 2015. Program participants’ success rate was74%. Kpodzi HS had one of the top performance in the nation with a general score of 58%.
