2. Focusing Questions How can we import audio and add audio effects in iMovie? How can we share our movies with other people? How do we add video effects to our movie clips?

4. Framing The Session Audio, whether it is from a CD, computer recording, or GarageBand has the ability to enhance dramatic moments in a movie. Once an iMovie is created there are many different methods of distribution. It can be: displayed on a website sent via email viewed on a computer burned on a DVD

5. Framing The Session Video effects can be used to alter a clip. Effects can be used to alter the speed of the clip, add special effects to the clip, or turn a clip to black and white.

6. Teaching What are possible sources of digital audio? A microphone (built into the computer or external) Online download A CD What are video effects?

7. Guided Practice Today’s skill will focus on: importing audio into iMovie video effects Saving the movie in a format everyone can view (see the tutorial for specific instructions)

8. Work Time

9. Getting Started Take the next 30 minutes to import audio. Add video effects (if necessary) and transitions to your movies. After 30 minutes we will come back together and share. Participant Activity  Import audio into iMovie and include it in your movie.  Add video effects to your movie. Save your iMovie project. Share (export) your iMovie project.

11. Students will share the following aspects of their project: Explain how the choices you have made regarding the video effects and audio have enhanced your movie. Why did you make these particular choices? Share

12. How does this work address the questions that began the session? We have seen how the choices we make as editors can effect the story. We have observed how title sequences, video effects, and transitions can add to or subtract from the overall impact of a movie.
