6 A Liquor License is… n A privilege, not a right n Is separate and distinct and location specific n In most cases, regulated at the local and state level n Your responsibility to maintain in good standing

7 The Liquor Licensed Premises n Areas where alcohol is sold, served, consumed and stored n May not be modified until the desired modifications are pre-approved at the state and local level n Subject to inspection/investigation

9 Modification of Premises n n Regulation 47-302. Changing, Altering, or Modifying Licensed Premises. n n A. After issuance of a license, the licensee shall make no physical change, alteration or modification of the licensed n n premises that materially or substantially alters the licensed premises or the usage of the licensed premises from the n n plans and specifications submitted at the time of obtaining the original license without application to, and the n n approval of, the local and state licensing authorities.

10 RENEWALS – CRS 12-47-302 LICENSE HOLDER OR DULY AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE MAY RENEW n n NEW LAW n n Reissued Licenses-expired more than 90 days but less than 180 days – n n $500 late fee to state AND local authorities n n $25 per day for each day expired after 90 days to state AND local authorities n n No more than 3 times in any 5 year period

17 Retail Storage Permits n For the storage only of permitted alcohol beverages in one but not more than three (3) locations n For off-premises licensed retailers, alcohol beverages permitted for storage within a storage warehouse shall n include vinous and spirituous liquors only n Alcohol beverages may not be sold or delivered to consumers from the permitted warehouse premises, however, n deliveries from wholesalers may be accepted at the permitted warehouse premises.

18 Tasting Permits n n ALLOWS CUSTOMERS TO TASTE SAMPLE OF ALCOHOL AT RLS & LLDS n n OBTAINED AT THE LOCAL LEVEL (IF THEY ALLOW THEM) ADOPT RESOLUTION OR ORDINANCE n n ALCOHOL FROM A LICENSED WHOLESALER, BREW PUB, WINERY n n LICENSEE SHALL BEAR ALL FINANCIAL AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES n n CONDUCTED BY SELLER/SERVER TRAINED PERSONS n n ONE OZ. MALT OR VINOUS LIQUOR OR ½ OZ. SPIRITUOUS LIQUOR n n NO MORE THAN 4 SERVINGS PER PATRON n n BETWEEN 11AM-7PM, NO MORE THAN 5 HRS PER DAY n n NO MORE THAN 4 OF 6 DAYS BETWEEN MON-SAT, AND 104 DAYS PER YEAR n n DESTROY OR REMOVE ALCOHOL AFTER TASTINGS n n ALCOHOL IN OPEN CONTAINERS AND FREE
