1 TODAY IS MAP DAY IN WORLD CULTURES 1.SELECT A MAP TO USE AS A REFERENCE, FOR INSTANCE: ATLAS OF WORLD HISTORY ON THE BACK TABLE (SEE PAGES 120 & 129), YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICE, OR ONE OF MY PERSONAL ATLASES. 2.COMPLETE THE POLITICAL MAP BY LABELING ALL (OR 90%) OF THE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES AND MAJOR BODIES OF WATER. 3.THEN, ON THE SECOND MAP, THE PHYSICAL MAP, YOU MUST ADD & LABEL ALL MOUNTAINS, RIVERS, AND BODIES OF WATER. INCLUDE A LEGEND SHOWING THE SYMBOLS YOU USED TO REPRESENT EACH GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURE. 4.MAKE SURE YOU USE THE NEXT SLIDE TO ADD YOUR T.O.D.A.L.S. TO YOUR MAP. WORK NEATLY AND GIVE ME YOUR BEST EFFORT 5.BOTH MAPS ARE DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD TODAY.

2 MAP SKILLS WITH T.O.D.A.L.S.: Title - should be pertaining to the subject of the map. Orientation - Compass Rose. Should indicate North. Date, the time/date it was created Author - Who created the map. Legend - What symbols mean on the map. Scale - The distance of a surtene length TODALS is used in some geography classes, specifically for teaching students how to make maps. It is an acronym for "Title, Orientation (directions), Date, Author, Legend (key) or Label, Scale", and Source. Seven components that are included on a useful map.
