Solids Definite shape - a solid will remain in that shape Definite volume - it will not expand

Crystalline solids -solids made up of crystals; particles arranged in a regular pattern Amorphous solids – particles are not arranged in a regular pattern

Liquids Definite volume – no matter what container you place a liquid in, it still has the same volume. Takes on the shape of its container

Viscosity – a liquid’s resistance to flowing. Example: molasses is very viscous, meaning it’s thick, while water is not very viscous.
