Source 1 From a newspaper report ROBBERY Mr. Free, of No. 157, Fenchurch-street, was on Wednesday night robbed of a red leather purse, 9 sovereigns, 26 shillings and £6 HOUSE-BREAKING On Monday night between 6 and 7 o'clock, the house of Mr.Edward Powell, was entered by smashing the front kitchen window, and a wooden box stolen. The thieves were two boys, who escaped, each about sixteen years of age, and both of them wearing hat. The dwelling-house of Mrs. Hardcastle, was broken into and between two and three hundred pounds weight of green and black tea, four lumps of sugar, a tea spoon, and a pair of silver reading glasses stolen.

A Reward of One Hundred Pounds is offered for any information which leads to the conviction of the thieves. The following is a description of the persons suspected to have committed the crime: One of the persons is about five feet eleven inches high, of about thirty years of age, black hair, and a beard. He was dressed in a black coat, black trousers, white tie, wellington boots, and had an old grey coat.
