5. Lasswade WW1 Battlefields Trip 100 years ago, thousands of Scots volunteered to join the army and fight in the First World War. They were given a small payment on joining…a gesture for their bravery and a bond from their country. This was called the ‘Kings Shilling’. We are looking for volunteers to join our own Battlefields Experience in September 2016. Pick up a letter from any History teacher and you will receive your very own ‘Kings Shilling’

Attention S4 History students Could anyone who is interested in helping out with the Remembrance assemblies please attend a short meeting in room 117 on Monday lunchtime at 1.30pm (please note the change of day!) If you cannot attend or you would like more information please speak to your History teacher

8. The Scottish Poppy Appeal The S6 Charity Committee will be visiting classes during registration until 11 th November. Please donate generously for your poppy. Money donated goes to Poppyscotland which is the leading charity supporting the Armed Forces community in Scotland.

9. NEW S5 Silver Group S5 pupils who did Bronze last year and would like to do Silver Award come to a meeting at lunchtime on Thursday 5 th November in Room 105 (Not Wed 5 th as previously advertised!)

10. S1/2 Forum Meeting If you’re in first or second year and interested in making a difference in our school, then come along to a meeting Monday lunchtime TODAY at 1.20pm in Room 208 (Miss Lyon’s room).

11. Science Club Plea! We need 4 or 5 science club volunteers to take part in an experiment on Tuesday lunchtime which will be filmed. If you are in our Edmodo group please reply to the post on there to let me know if you can come or not. If you are not on Edmodo and you would like to do the experiment then please just come along anyway. This will be from the start of lunch and will last all of lunchtime in room 124 on Tuesday the 3 rd of November THANK YOU!!!!
