 Connects the aileron to plane.

 Light weight  Hardest Aluminum alloy  High fatigue strength

 7000 series aluminum contains zinc as the primary alloying element.  T6 meaning it is heat treated and furnace aged

 Alloying elements:  Zinc-5.6%  Magnesium-2.6%  Copper-1.6%  Impurities:  Iron-0.5%  Silicon-0.4%  Manganese-0.3%  Chromium-0.26%  Aluminum-88.74 (remainder)

 Tensile strength 83 KSI  Yield Strength 73 KSI  Brinell hardness-172  Rockwell B-87  Fatigue strength 23 KSI(500,000,000 cycles)

 Heat treated and furnace aged  Salt bath  Cold water quench  Rolled threads  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kidWBey OMA0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kidWBey OMA0

 Aerospace bolts are not normally made of 7075- T6 aluminum  There is a thin invisible oxide that prevents the metal from oxidization  Zinc lowers the corrosive resistance.
