Do Now  Please write HW in your agenda.  Please update your table of contents.  Write the following on the top of page 46, and follow the instructions for the half sheet on the cart. Water has a density of 1 g/mL. Anything with a density of less than 1 g/mL will float on water, and anything with a density of greater than 1 g/mL will sink.  For each density on the sheet, write “sink” or “float” to predict what you think it will do in water. Then, place a circle around the liquids and a box around the solids – base this on the unit! Page #TitleDate 46Sink or Float10/30/14 47Density Problem Challenge10/30/14

Sink or Float Homework  Under the glued-in sheet on page 46, draw a picture of 6 objects in water.  Draw 3 objects that float in water, and label their densities.  Draw 3 objects that sink in water, and label their densities.  Make the picture COLORFUL!

Density Problem Challenge  You have 10 minutes to complete the questions on the Mass, Volume, or Density? sheet.  When you finish, you may begin your homework.  We will be trading off to grade the sheet.

Density Problem Challenge ExampleM = 252 gV = 2 mL V = 1.5 mLM = 3 gM = 225 g D = 0.923 g/mLD = 0.75 g/mLD = 0.706 g/mL V = 1.944 mLV = 1.114 mLM = 76.88 g

Density Problem Challenge  If you earned:  10 or 11/11  Draw a star on your paper  7, 8, or 9/11  Draw a triangle on your paper  6 or lower/11  Draw a circle on your paper

 Finish 45 first if you did not finish last night.  Work at your own pace to complete all problems at your difficulty level. Stay in your seat.  Check the answer key ONLY when you are done.  Fix mistakes  When you are done, move to the next level and pick up the next difficulty level at the back table.  Will you beat the rugged muffin today?
