Launched in 2009, the HEA's annual Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is the only sector-wide survey to gain insight from taught postgraduate students about their learning and teaching experience.

Why should I take part? PTES is your chance to tell us your thoughts about your course. The results help us compare how we are doing with other institutions make changes that will improve what we do in future keep doing the things that you value This will help improve the experience of students like you in the future.

Win £500! For the first time in 2015, the University is running a league table of response rates. Schools with the highest response rates at the end of the survey will win a cash prize for their students to choose how to spend. Two categories with two prizes available in each: subject areas with <100 students - £500 & £250 subject areas with 100 or more students - £500 & £250 The more students who fill in the survey, the more likely you are to win one of these cash prizes!

What happens to the results? Your feedback is important. Over one hundred universities and colleges take part in PTES, which means we can compare your experience against similar postgraduates at other institutions to see if we are supporting your learning as we should. We use the findings to improve our courses and the learning experience for future students.

Is it anonymous? The survey is confidential and no-one will be able to identify you from any results. The survey also asks that any comments you make should not identify yourself or any specific members of staff.

What do I need to do? If you are eligible to take part, you will have received an email with a link to the questionnaire. Simply click on the link and complete the online form. Please be aware that this link is unique to you, and should not be shared with anyone else. If you want to take part and haven’t received a link, you can email Gilly Box to have your own link sent out.

When does it close? The survey closes on 18th June. Please take this opportunity to tell us about your experience here at Newcastle.
