Welcome you, future class- mates!!!

We would like to introduce you into this new phase we call University. Some of you may already have experienced university life studying other courses. But for the rest of you who just left school, here we have a bunch of tips which might be useful when the time has come.

The building As you can see from the picture aside, our Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación (from now on, FaHCE) consist of three different buildings. Even though all of them have rooms where lesson and lectures are given, you will recognize them for their main function. Building A: Administrative paper works. Different offices for all head department courses. Offices of the Principal. Building B: Library. Photocopy shop and buffet. Building C: Laboratory rooms.

Front Entrance to Buiding B

View to building A from the buffet.

Corridor between the three buildings

Getting to the Campus. Alt hough it was really important to our city that Facultad de Psicología and FaHCE finally find a place of its own in order to decompress downtown circulation, it is a fact that the part of the city where the campus is now locatted is not entirilly developed when it comes to home renting, markets, shops or means of transport. But don’t dispair! You will count on Micro Universitario, a very short distance bus which connects FaHCE with other facultys and the city centre. Besides, there are other lines of buses stops just outside the campus and it’s not that far from main avenues if you have a bike.

Tips for the introductory course. Get here fresh: for the first three weeks you’ll be here four hours a day; so, as far as possible, try to be here in time, having taken at least a ten-minutes break to relax your brain before you start to exercise it. Always bring the materials with you: not only the handouts, but also a dictionary is really necessary for a lesson given in a foreign language. Mind you, at this point of the course you will be already expected to use an English-English dictionary. Homework: A four hours lesson is very much productive and easy to get through if you have done your homework and have comments or questions to make.

The Translation Course. Congratulations, you’ve passed the exams!!! Now the real work start: you’ll be here many hours and you will have to catch up with many subjects schedules at the same time; but don’t worry!!! Organise your timetable and remember that you’ll always find people in the same situation to hang out with. Most of all, take your time to study and try to find your own tools of self studying. Good Luck!!!
