3 ISCF announcement and launch On 31 st August 2012, we launched a new £2.2m fund for local NHS organisations to deliver digital services that improve patient care

4 Who? The Fund is open to NHS organisations in England, with the exception of strategic health authorities (SHAs) and primary care trusts (PCTs) due to limitations associated with the payment mechanisms. – SHAs and PCTs should approach an acute NHS trust/Foundation trust within their area to be the lead organisation on any applications they wish to make. The fund is not directly open to suppliers and system developers. Our intent is to stimulate the NHS to purchase standards based products. Suppliers should partner with local NHS organisations to deliver these products

5 What? Because timescales are tight (completion by 31 st March2013) we have asked for a limited number of largely pre-existing ITK themes: – Clinical Correspondence Just about any document type can be shared, PDF, DOC, XML Plain text and coded information – Urgent Care Clinical Dashboards – Maternity Digital Capture – Admission, Discharge and Transfer (HL7 v2 ADT) – Telehealth Personal Health Monitoring Report – Health and Social Care Integration

6 ISCF Award Styles Adoption – Designed to help suppliers develop their application around an ITK ‘theme’ and gain accreditation – And to deploy at an initial site Deployment – Designed to allow additional sites to deploy an accredited application Development – Designed to allow the development of new ‘themes’ – Or to prove the stability of a new candidate ‘theme’ specification (first of type accreditation and deployment)
