9 Matthew 22:34-40 But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" love 37 Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." 1.Love for God Defined: 1.Love for God Defined: Agape Love for God = walking in faith = obedience Agape Love for God = unselfish, unconditional, God centered obedience to His will and Word while giving yourself to Him from a grateful and reverent heart.

Fruit of Love for God Revealed: Love for God Produces Love for Neighbor Agape Love for One Another = unselfish, unconditional giving of yourself to others empowered by the Holy Spirit (die so others might have life like Jesus did for us)

13 Luke 10:25-37: The Good Samaritan And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying,"Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" 26 He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?" 27 So he answered and said,"'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'" 28 And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live." 29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, who is my neighbor?" "And who is my neighbor?" 5. Neighbor Defined = anyone in need
