How to add, subtract, and divide fractions & decimals! By: Kelly Oren! :)

How to add decimals! 1. Write the two sets of numbers out, lining them up in columns. Keep the decimal points on top of each other and line up the non-decimals with non-decimals and the decimals with decimals. 2. Start at the right-most column and add it up. If it becomes more than 9, remember to write the next digit in a third row (perhaps in a smaller notation). 3. Add the second right-most column up with any extra number from the first column. 4. Continue the process, remembering to include extra digits from previous columns.

How to divide decimals! 1. Move the outside decimal all the way to the right 2. Move the inside decimal to the right the same number of places as the outside decimal was moved 3. Raise the inside decimal straight up 4. Divide

How to multiply decimals! - Multiply normally, ignoring the decimal points. - Then put the decimal point in the answer - it will have as many decimal places as the two original numbers combined.

How to subtract decimals! Write down the two numbers, one under the other, with the decimal points lined up. Add zeros so the numbers have the same length Then subtract normally, remembering to put the decimal point in the answer Simplify the fraction (if needed)

How to divide fractions! Turn the second fraction (the one you want to divide by) upside-down (this is now a reciprocal). Multiply the first fraction by that reciprocal

How to add fractions! Make sure the bottom numbers (the denominators) are the same Add the top numbers (the numerators). Put the answer over the same denominator. Simplify the fraction (if needed).

How to subtract fractions! Make sure the bottom numbers (the denominators) are the same Subtract the top numbers (the numerators). Put the answer over the the same denominator. Simplify the fraction.

How to multiply fractions! Multiply the top numbers (the numerators). Multiply the bottom numbers (the denominators). Simplify the fraction if needed.

THE END! :D
