4 Lasswade WW1 Battlefields Trip 100 years ago, thousands of Scots volunteered to join the army and fight in the First World War. They were given a small payment on joining…a gesture for their bravery and a bond from their country. This was called the ‘Kings Shilling’. We are looking for volunteers to join our own Battlefields Experience in September 2016. Pick up a letter from any History teacher and you will receive your very own ‘Kings Shilling’

5 The Scottish Poppy Appeal The S6 Charity Committee will be visiting classes during registration until 11 th November. Please donate generously for your poppy. Money donated goes to Poppyscotland which is the leading charity supporting the Armed Forces community in Scotland.

9 Senior Maths Challenge S5/S6 pupils who are participating in the Senior Maths Challenge TODAY should report to the Assembly Hall at the start of Period 3 immediately after break in order to start the challenge promptly. 16 Family ceilidh Help us celebrate St. Andrew’s Day and raise funds to bring pupils from Umlazi to work with us at Lasswade High School. Where: Lasswade High School When: Saturday 28 th November from 7pm. Featuring Lasswade High School Ceilidh Band. Tickets £5 from the LHS South Africa Committee this week in the atrium.

19 S1-6 Hockey club! Mr Sands and Miss Hume will be coaching a hockey club on Tuesday 3:45-5pm on the astro. Girls and boys, all ages and abilities welcome! Come along after school on Tuesday in your PE kit with shin guards and hockey sticks if you have them! Remember if you want to represent the school in tournaments you must attend trainings.

20 Netball Matches To the S2 (B Group) Your first match is Tuesday 10th November against George Watson’s. Please come to Room 302 as soon as possible to let me know if you can play that day. Thanks Miss Mollon

21 Volleyball There will be no volleyball club this Thursday. Next session Thursday 12 th November. Mr Attinasi
