3 BACKGROUND ON SPORTS DRINK MARKET By the year 2001, the US sports drink market had grown to nearly 8 million per year. Athletes and competitors usually buy it The market trend for sports drinks is that consumers look for new ways to improve performance and hydration. Sports drinks are a growing and popular market.

Gatorades major promotion is its contracts with sports teams(LeBron James in basketball commercials)Price-Gatorade has a very simple pricing strategy although Gatorade is the leader in the sports drink market they still use the going rate for their pricing level Market share each competitor has
