6 Deuteronomy 5:9-10 I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 “As parents, we pass on things to our children every day. They’re watching us, learning from us and emulating us. The question is not are we passing things on to our children, but what are we passing on to our children.” Mark Holmen

8 Psalm 78:1-7 1 O my people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. 2 I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things from of old- 3 what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us.

9 4 We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. 5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children,

10 6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. 7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

11 As a Church we must empower families to: 1)Continuously talk about God

12 3 what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us. 4 We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. Psalm 78:3-4

14 “If we want our children to have a faith that influences the way they live their lives, then in our homes we need to be modeling faith through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.” Mark Holmen

15 As a Church we must empower families to: 1)Continuously talk about God 2)Teach Children to Live by the Word of God

24 If: The Foundation of Rules is not Relationship Then: Rules will Lead to Rebellion
