2 What is PASTEUR4OA? Outline of the presentation:  General aim and action plan  Update of ROARMAP  Results from the policy analysis assessment  Knowledge Net  Advocacy resources  Regional workshops This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 611742 It’s a multi-stakeholder project that brings together 15 partners from 10 European countries and that started in February 2014 (until July 2016)

4 PASTEUR4OA supports the aim of encouraging the development of matching policies on Open Access and Open Data in the European Union, according to the European Commission’s Recommendation on “Access to and preservation of scientific information” (July 2012) and in view of maximizing alignment with the Horizon 2020 policy on access to the research funded by the Commission.

5 Stimulating national level actions and policy alignment by:  Maintaining regular communication with national expert organisations – Key Nodes – to address national needs  Monitoring national developments based on information provided by Key Nodes and on assessment of national policies and informing the provision of targeted support  Promoting the implementation of programmes of activities tailored to address national needs that are supported by evidence-based advocacy materials  Facilitating European coordination among policymakers and identifying solutions to address common challenges by convening ten regional workshops and a European conference.

19 Regional Workshops These meetings, bring together research funders and research performing organizations from 5 European regions, to address the following issues:  Revisit the Horizon 2020 Open Access mandate, examine Open Access policy developments in Europe and within the global context, and learn from best practices in Open Access policy development and implementation at the national, funder and institutional levels;  Discuss the importance of aligning national Open Access policies with the Horizon 2020 Open Access mandate;  Promote Open Access policy alignment at the national level and facilitate coordination at the pan-European level.

20 PASTEUR4OA Final Conference ✔ Save the date! 17-18 May, 2016 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands The conference will bring together Key Node organisations and policymakers and will provide the opportunity for the project outcomes to be presented.
