2 Key Points  Nonsegmental hybrid UHMWPE sublaminar wire/pedicle screw constructs are preferential over segmental constructs for early onset scoliosis patients in order to maximize exploitation of growth potential 6 constructs were biomechanically tested in porcine thoracic spine segments (T6-T14) patients in order to find an optimal sublaminar wire density which allows maximum growth while still providing adequate correction and fixation

3 Key Points  Instrumenting two consecutive end levels with UHWMPE sublaminar wires provides the best balance between spinal stabilization and minimizing the number of instrumented levels and thereby surgical exposure

4 Key Points  Gradual motion transition is observed at construct end levels instrumented with UHMWPE sublaminar wires
