1 PSYCHOLOGY OF SCHOOL SHOOTINGS
NDERIM GERQARI PSYCHOLOGY OF SCHOOL SHOOTINGS

2 BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Meaning school shooting is an incident in which gun violence happens in an educational institution. Used to describe acts that students committed. Happens a lot in US.

5 Facts and information In the U.S., children aged 5-14 are 13 times more likely to be murdered with guns than in any other industrialized nation. The earliest known United States shooting to happen on school property was the Pontiac's Rebellion school massacre on July 26, 1764, where four Lenape American Indians entered the schoolhouse near present-dayGreencastle Pennsylvania, shot and killed schoolmaster Enoch Brown, and killed nine or ten children (reports vary). Only three children survived. There are very seldom reports of mass or multiple school shootings during the first three decades of the 20th Century, with the three most violent attacks on schools involving either arson or explosions.

6 Continue The two most notable U.S. school shootings in the early 1970s were the Jackson State killings in May 1970, where police opened fire on the campus of Jackson State University and the Kent State shootings also in May 1970 where the National Guard opened fire on the campus of Kent State University. The mid to late 1970s is considered the second most violent period in U.S. school history with a series of school shootings For years, some areas in the US have allowed "armed classrooms" to deter (or truncate) future attacks, presumably by changing helpless victims into armed defenders.

10 “No one really knows for sure but there are common themes of extreme alienation, poor social skills and severe low esteem. After all, killing is the ultimate control over others, albeit in a horrific way.” Saying from Dr. Mark Stitham about school shooting.

11 MY OPININON I think that the school shootings happens just because that these silly students, were educated by silly parents or maybe not educated at all, just giving them money, and they can buy everything. That’s why I think that school shootings happen. It is parents fault for not educating children in a proper way. For me this would never happen, my parents never educated me like that, actually I never had a plastic gun as a toy, so having a real gun for me it is the last thing that people would think, even though that I am living in a different place from my parents, I would never have a gun.
