2. Minute Paper Goal Minute papers can be used to assess student understanding of a topic before proceeding to a new topic or their understanding of a foundation topic. Since the activity only takes a few minutes of class time it can be easily incorporated at the beginning or end of class. This activity provides feedback to the instructor, encourages active participation and demonstrates the instructor’s interest in student comprehension and reactions.

3. Assessment The minute paper topics are application or analysis questions. These questions can be used for formative and summative evaluation.
