P ENITENTIAL R ITE Celebrant: Gracious God we come together today to give you thanks and praise for all your generous gifts and abundant blessings. Let us begin by reflecting on how we have failed to live with grateful hearts.

Lord Jesus you taught us how to pray: Lord have mercy. All: Lord have mercy. Lord Jesus you showed us how to love. Christ have mercy. Christ have mercy. All: Christ have mercy. Lord Jesus you lived with a grateful heart and gave thanks to God. Lord have mercy Lord have mercy. All: Lord have mercy.

Opening Prayer Celebrant: Let us pray, We come together today to celebrate Good Samaritan Day. We think of all those people, especially children, who do not have the basic needs of life that we have. They do not have enough to eat, enough clean water to drink, a safe home, warm clothes and shoes, a decent education and a loving family. We ask God to help us to be grateful for what we have and to take up the challenge of the gospel to do what we can to care for our neighbours. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

Liturgy of the word First Reading – Two YEAR 5 Students A reading from 1st Corinthians 12: 12-30

12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 14 Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot would say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear would say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.

17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many members, yet one body. The Word of the Lord ALL: Thanks be to God

PREFACE PREFACE : COMMON PREFACE I The renewal of all things in Christ It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, through Christ our Lord. In him you have been pleased to renew all things, giving us all a share in his fullness. For though he was in the form of God, he emptied himself and by the blood of his Cross brought peace to all creation. Therefore he has been exalted above all things, and to all who obey him, has become the source of eternal salvation.

PREFACE PREFACE : And so, with the Angels and all the Saints we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Priest: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, The fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body + and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Priest: At the time he was betrayed And entered willingly into his Passion, He took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples saying: “Take this, all of you, and eat of it; for this is my body which will be given up for you.”

Priest: In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice And, once more giving thanks, He gave it to his disciples, saying: “Take this, all of you, and drink from it; for this is the chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.”

Priest: The mystery of faith When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, All: When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, We proclaim your Death, O Lord, Until you come again

Priest: Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis our Pope and Denis our Bishop and all the clergy. Remember your servants whom you have called today from this world to yourself. Grant that he (she) who was united with your Son in a death like his, may also be one with him in his Resurrection. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,

and all who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Priest: Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever. All: Amen

For the Kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. All: For the Kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever.

Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins but on the faith of your church, graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will. Who will live and reign for ever and ever.
