2 INTRODUCTION Franklin Pierce college is a small 4 year liberal arts college located In Rindge NH. There are roughly 1560 students enrolled at the Main campus. According to the last part of the College mission Statement: “Franklin Pierce College is committed to serving as an educational, intellectual, and cultural resource for the residents of our region. The College affirms that learning, personal development and service to others are lifelong commitments, requiring continuous initiative. The College therefore, strives to impress this realization on all its students.”

3 Research is necessary to identify if students at Franklin Pierce College would be receptive in taking a percentage of a given course online. Research is also needed to find out students’ attitudes toward taking a percentage of their overall courses online. Problem statement

4 Research Objectives 1)Research secondary data to assess research studies of on-line course work at other universities/colleges. 2) 2) Determine overall opinions and attitudes of FPC students. 3) 3) Identify what percentage of student body has a PC with Internet access. 4) Determine what online percentage of specific course work that would be acceptable to FPC students.

6 Number of students surveyed The freshmen class: there are 643 students, from which we surveyed 126 students. 63 male students, and 63 female. The sophomore class: there are 381 students, from which we surveyed 75 students. 38 male students, and 37 female. The junior class: there are 288 students, from which we surveyed 57 students. 28 male students, and 29 female. The senior class: there are 208 students, from which we surveyed 42 students. 21 male students, and 21female.

23 Conclusions and Recommendations Online/hybrid courses would be successful at Franklin Pierce College. We Recommend the FPC Faculty, Staff, and Administration take an active role to facilitate the birth of Online/hybrid courses at Franklin Pierce.
