2 Key Terms  Software licensing- Allowing an individual or group to use a piece of software  Piracy- The unauthorized copying of software  Copyright- The legal right granted to an author, composer, playwright, publisher, or distributor to exclusive publication, production, sale, or distribution of a literary, musical, dramatic, or artistic work.  Pilferage-The act of stealing small amounts or small articles

3 Key terms (continued)  Site license- a way to gain a bulk discount when purchasing many copies of a given piece of software. 5 Johansen strikes again  He produced a new code called QTFair  The new program circumvents iTunes' anti-copying program, MPEG-4 Advanced Audio Coding, by legally opening and playing a protected music file in QuickTime, but then, essentially, draining the unprotected music data into a new and parallel file.
