List as many of your passions that you can think of. 3. How will your passions influence your future decision? (use examples)

3 Identifying your Passions Objective: To help students identify and articulate those things that are extremely important to them on an emotional level.

4 Dictionary Definition of Passion Passion is a, “Powerful emotion; boundless enthusiasm; deep, overwhelming feeling; or avid interest.”

5 Clinical Psychologist Def. of Passion Passion is the, “Energy and enthusiasm wedded to a sense of purpose that gives life meaning and pleasure.”

6 Passion Exercise Take thirty seconds to a minute to think about the definition of, “Passion” and what it means personally to you. When I say so, please talk to your neighbor and come up with a definition between the two of you. Share out loud.

7 What makes you Grin? Think about what makes you grin. Share with everyone.

8 What makes your Heart Race? Think about what makes your heart race. Share with everyone.

9 What makes you lose track of time? Think about what activities you perform that make you lose track of time. Share with everyone.

10 Words for Passion What words can we come up with as a group for the word, “Passion?” Examples: Rapture, bliss, ecstasy, euphoria, exaltation, something that makes you go, “aha.”

11 What drives your Passion? Learning to recognize the objects, events or situations that make you feel like this is an important step towards self-knowledge.

12 Activity 29 in Workbook Turn to page 29 (large number). Complete the statements in your own words. Don’t get frustrated if you cannot do it immediately, but we aware of your feelings. If, during the next few weeks you have more words to add to the list, feel free to come back to this page and add them! You will continue to find new passions throughout your life.
