The question “Exactly who will be saved?” has long plagued many people in the world of religion. Actually, it would probably be more accurate to rephrase the question as: “Exactly who will be lost?” Folks seem to have difficulty comprehending that the loving and merciful God they envision could and would condemn anyone to an eternity of punishment. While the magnanimity of God’s grace and mercy is not questioned, the conclusion drawn from it seems to directly contradict what God Himself said…

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?” 1Cor.6:9a The Spirit says through Paul, “Do not be deceived” about this point! So who are “the unrighteous” ?

Fornicators Idolaters Adulterers Effeminate Homosexuals Thieves Covetous Drunkards Revilers Swindlers Shall not inherit The kingdom of God! Greek pornos- “unlawful sexual intercourse”- a fornicator, Rom.13:13 > 1Pet.4:3 To seek and serve anything before or instead of God, Eph.5:5 > Matt.6:24 Sexual immorality involving married people- worse than fornication in that it destroys multiple lives, Heb.13:4 > Luke 16:18 Greek malakos- soft, Mt.11:8; indolent / indulgent; passive in homosexual relations Greek arsenokoites- active in homosexual relations, Rom1:27 Greedy of gain; eager to have more- especially what belongs to others, Eph.5:5 One who becomes intoxicated- no minimum “blood alcohol level” specified Greek loidoros- a railer; a slanderer or verbal abuser cp. Eph.4:29 Greek harpax- an extortioner, a robber; vicious; destructively ferocious, Matt.7:15 Greek kleptace- (from klepto- to steal) an embezzler, pilferer- to steal secretly or craftily, Jn.10:1,8,10; 1Thess.5:2

But you were: “And such were some of you…” 1Cor.6:11

Negatively, But on the positive side, whether you have been, or even currently are, a fornicator, idolater, adulterer, effeminate, homosexual, thief, covetous, drunkard, reviler, swindler, or anything else, you can be washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus. By the power of God, the Corinthians changed their Condition, Calling, and Standing, and so can you! We have to understand that sin is “sin” and keep us from the inheritance of heaven God intended for us.
