Ch. 3.3: Graphing and Solving Systems of Linear Inequalities Goals Graph a system of linear inequalities to find the solutions of the system. Use systems of inequalities to solve real-life problems.

2
Vocabulary System of two linear inequalities: consists of two variables in two inequalities. Ex: { Solution: the area where the graphs overlap each other

3
Graphing a System of Linear Inequalities 1)Graph the line that corresponds to the first inequality. UUse a dashed line for < or >. UUse a solid line for < or >. 2)Lightly shade the half-plane that is the graph of the inequality. 3)Repeat Steps 1 and 2 using the second inequality. 4)The graph of the inequality are all the points that are double shaded.

Example 1: Solve Graphically X + Y < 4 X – Y > 2 LABEL YOUR LINES!

5
Example 2: Solve Graphically X – Y < 2 Y < 3 X > -2 LABEL YOUR LINES!

6
Example 3: Solve Graphically y < -4/5 x -4 4x + 5y > 10 LABEL YOUR LINES!
