The Brunk House

Harrison and Emily Brunk They met in Kentucky and married in 1838

On April 4, 1849 Harrison and Emily traveled across the plains and around Mt. Hood on the Barlow Trail. They settled in Oregon and built the Brunk House.

It took them about 3 months to travel along the Oregon Trail. Here are some of the items they packed in the wagon Barrel of sugar 15 lbs. Desk 60 lbs.

They were buried in the Burch cemetery In December 1888, Emily Brunk Died at the age if 68. Soon to follow was Harrison, who died in October 1895.

Thomas and his wife Clara purchased the family home in 1891, where they raised 5 children.
