1 LAB #9 Valve Head replacement

2 Insert the valve. Make sure that the cap goes on the intake valve. Insert the springs. Insert the keeper.

3 Valve Spring DO NOT LOOSEN OR REMOVE THE ROCKER ARM. Push the rocker arm into place.

4 Head Gasket If the head gasket is in good condition. Carefully place the head gasket onto the block.

5 Cylinder Head Carefully install the cylinder head onto the engine block. With a 10mm socket snug the four bolts holding the head onto the block.

6 Torquing Head Using an inch pound torque wrench, tighten the head bolts using the three step method outlined below: First step - tighten the head bolts to 75 in. lbs. Second step - tighten the head bolts to 150 in. lbs. Third step - tighten the head bolts to 220 in. lbs.

7 Push Rods Install the push rods into the slot in the cylinder head. On the back side of the rocker arms. Making sure you seat it in the valve tappet. Rotate the crankshaft so you can get the rocker arm installed on the push rod.

8 Valve Cover Gasket Carefully install valve cover gasket make sure it is not ripped.

9 Install Valve Cover Install valve cover. Make sure the flange on the is on the same side as the armature.

10 Valve Cover With a 10mm socket and using the x tightening sequence, tighten the four valve cover bolts. Torqued to 100”#
