3 ALCOHOL A person is drunk when they consume too much alcoholic drinks. Alcohol is a depressant They become: Unable to walk upright Careless Loss of self-control Temporary memory-loss Misjudgement Delayed reaction time Slurred speech Slow to respond

4 ALCOHOL IN THE BODY Some alcohol passes into the lungs and can e given out on the breath The rest is absorbed through the walls of the intestines into the blood stream The blood carries the alcohol to the liver The liver removes the alcohol from the blood If there is too much alcohol the excess remains in the blood stream
