2. The Father Glorifies the Son  Jesus is given the gift of a people.  An appropriate gift of a people to be conformed to His own blessed image  A satisfying gift seen in Jesus’ rejoicing over His people – Isaiah 53:10-11; Hebrews 12:1-3 Glory All Around John 17:1-5

Isaiah 53:10-11 (NASB) 10 But the L ORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the L ORD will prosper in His hand. 11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities

Philippians 2:9-11 (NASB) 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.’” 24 And He said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.
