Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” Hebrews 3:1 (NIV) “Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” 1. There are pitfalls if we don’t. 2. He deserves our full attention. 3. His words are life changing. 4. His accomplishments are incomparable. 4 Reasons for Focusing on Jesus

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” … something else will always be more important to you … something else will draw your attention away … you may miss out on what God wants to give you 1. There are pitfalls if we don’t.

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” Not only because it will keep us from sin but because He deserves our sole attention. There is no organisation and there is no man that can ever come close to positively changing your life like Jesus. 2. He deserves our full attention.

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” Hebrews 1:1-2 “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.” 3. His words are life changing.

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” Hebrews 3:3-6. "Jesus has been found worthy of greater honour than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honour than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be said in the future. But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast." 3. His words are life changing (Continued).

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” Jesus did that which no human being could ever accomplish. Hebrews 2:14-15 tells us: "Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death — that is, the devil — and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.". What mortal man could ever hope to overcome the power of Satan? What mortal could ever pay the debt for someone else’s sins? 4. His accomplishments are incomparable.

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” Philippians 2 tells us: "Christ Jesus… being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!" 4. His accomplishments are incomparable (Continued).

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” Because Jesus willingly shared in our humanity: * Satan has been destroyed. * we have been freed from our sins. * and we have the privilege to be called the children of God. 4. His accomplishments are incomparable (Continued).

Jesus First: “Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus” "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face And the things of the earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace." In Conclusion
